Summer work for risng 8th graders

Students,

Happy summer, but we have to keep our minds strong in order for your 8th grade year to be successful.

You know the drill, on NON-word problem problems, write the problem, show the work and box your answer.

On word problems, please label and do all five steps!

If you complete all the problems AND the Mixed Review Exercises, 150/100

If you complete all the problems and NONE of the Mixed Review Exercises, 125/100

If you complete ONLY the odd problems 90/100.

You have a choice on how you can continue your education and begin your new year!

Happy summer and see you in August.

You know the drill! Write the problem, show your work, box your answers.  Some problems you will need to verify why you chose that answer, make sure you are showing your work.

On word problems, you must show ALL five steps.  You done have to write the problem, just show and LABEL

1.  Set up Variable

2. Write equation (some they are asking for an expression)

3. Solve or simplify

4. Check your work

5. State your answer

Make sure to be neat and work hard!

Completing all of the problems neatly to the best of your ability 125/100!

Completing all of the odd problems neatly to the best of your ability 90/100!

Starting the year off like this will be great!  We will have a 100pt test covering this the Third day of school as we will review it and cover questions during the first two days.

Enjoy yourselves but continue to build and maintain your mathematical abilities!! Do a little each day!

Summer work for rising 6th graders

  • Welcome to Middle School 6th graders!

For the summer math packet, please do NOT use a calculator, I know the calculator knows how to compute decimals and fractions! I want to know if YOU do!

Show work for each problem! Neatness is a must.  If you cannot fit the work on the worksheet, please do the work on loose leaf paper.

On the second day of school, there will be a 100 point test covering 2 questions from each work page.

WORK IS LOCATED ON ST ANN WEBSITE UNDER SUMMER WORK!!
